The Nurse Practitioner is responsible and accountable for the application of the nursing process, supervision of clinical practice, research involvement, consultative services, inter and intra-departmental liaison, education, leadership and patient care management across the health care continuum including preventative care acute care through discharge, and ambulatory care environments. Clinically manage Neurosurgery patients through the continuum of care alongside Neurosurgery Residency team. Analyzes and prioritized the care of clinically complex patients/clients, including sociocultural, cognitive, functional, nutritional and educational evaluation, leading to the development of a problem list and patient management plan and communicates to patient, family and interdisciplinary team. Develop and implement patient management plans and assist in provision of continuity of care. Patient advocate throughout the care process and represents the medical center at regional and national meetings/conferences.
